Cats can eat raw shrimp in controlled amounts. It's because it contains bacteria, toxins, and fungi that are poisonous to cats. Cooking helps eliminate the toxins present.

It's not recommended to feed raw shrimp to cats because there are toxic chemicals and bacteria potentially carried from the raw shrimp. It can cause gastrointestinal upset and constipation and symptoms of infection. And it's safe if you cooked and prepared plainly steamed, grilled, sauteed, boiled, or broiled. This is the best treat shrimp included and you undoubtedly love pampering your feline.

It is not recommended to feed cats raw shrimp on a regular basis. Raw shrimp can contain harmful bacteria, parasites, and other toxins that can make cats very sick. Additionally, raw shrimp is not nutritionally balanced and can lead to malnutrition if fed in large quantities. It is best to feed cats a diet of high quality, nutritionally balanced cat food.

The best option for your cat is fresh, wild-caught shrimp that has been cooked without any oils or seasonings. Though cats can eat raw shrimp, it isn't recommended in case the shrimp is carrying traces of antibiotics, fungicides or other potentially toxic chemicals that the cooking process helps to eliminate.

Feeding raw shrimp to your cat occasionally is generally okay, but it shouldn't replace their regular cat food. Make sure the shrimp is fresh, cooked, and free of any seasonings or additives. However, a balanced cat food is essential for their overall nutrition.
