Why do some cats seem to have a fascination with knocking things over?

Some cats have a natural curiosity and may be drawn to the motion of objects, such as when they are knocked over. In addition, cats may be drawn to the sound of objects being knocked over, as well as the potential reward of playing with the object after it has been knocked over. Cats may also knock things over out of boredom or as a way to get attention.
