Cats form strong relationships with both humans and other animals. When there's a sudden change, a cat can change to being depressed and restless. Many times when you have to be away from your cat, it can be throttled with anger.

Cats may cry and become upset when you leave them they are social beings that form strong relationships with their human. And they get emotional and miss their owners because the cat is an intelligent and sensitive creature and doesn't like change. They don't know you abandoned them they hang around at the place where you live them and wait for their family to return.

Cats can sense changes in their environment and may experience stress or anxiety when their owner is no longer present. However, whether or not they understand the concept of abandonment as humans do is not fully understood. It's important to provide proper care and attention to cats to prevent feelings of abandonment.

Cats remember previous owners, regardless of whether the owner was an attentive or careless one. Cats have a great memory for the people they spend a long time with. So, they do not forget the previous owners even after being rehomed or re-sheltered.
