How long does it typically take your cat to warm up to new people?

It usually takes my cat a few days to warm up to new people. He is usually cautious and reserved around new people, but he will often start to show signs of interest after a few days. He will often come up to them and sniff them, and may even start to purr or rub against them. After a few days, he usually becomes comfortable enough to be around them.
