Cats have a sense of taste, but it is not as developed as their sense of smell. Cats have taste receptors on their tongues that allow them to detect sweet, sour, salty, and bitter flavors. However, they primarily rely on their sense of smell to detect food and determine whether or not they like it. Cats have around 200 million scent receptors in their noses, while humans only have around 5 million, so cats are able to detect much more subtle smells than humans.
