The musical "Cats" was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Trevor Nunn and Richard Stilgoe. The musical was based on T. S. Eliot's 1939 poetry collection "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and premiered in London in 1981.
