The cat's name was Blackie. He was left a £9 million fortune by his owner, Ben Rea, a British antiques dealer, when Rea passed away in 1988. At the time, it was the largest known inheritance ever left to a cat. Blackie lived the rest of his life with a caretaker and passed away a few years later.
