Cats have better night vision than humans, but they cannot see in complete darkness. Cats have a layer of extra cells in the back of their eyes, called tapetum lucidum, which reflects light back into the eye and helps them see better in low light conditions. Cats also have larger pupils than humans, which allows them to let more light into their eyes, making it easier to see in the dark.
