The International Cat Association (TICA) recognizes 71 cat breeds in championship competitions.
TICA is a registry of cats and kittens that is recognized by the International Cat Association. The association recognizes 71 breeds of cats in championship competitions, which are divided into two groups – pedigreed cats and household pet cats. The pedigreed cats are further divided into nine divisions – short-haired, long-haired, exotic, oriental, Siamese, Colorpoint Shorthair, Himalayan, Burmese and Manx. Each division has its own set of breeds, and each breed has its own set of standards for judging. The household pet cats are judged on their overall appearance, personality and health.
