Weaning is the process of gradually introducing a kitten to solid food. It typically begins when the kitten is around four weeks old and is completed by the time the kitten is eight to ten weeks old. During this period, the kitten should be gradually transitioned from a diet of mother's milk to a diet of solid food.

Wean slowly

This will protect your breasts from engorgement and ease your baby's anxiety. Rosenfeld says you can never go too slowly, but be sure to switch only one feeding every three or four days so that it takes about two weeks for the entire process.
