Cats can see in the dark better than humans, but they are not able to see in complete darkness. Cats have a special layer of cells in their eyes called the tapetum lucidum, which reflects light back onto the retina and gives cats better night vision. However, cats are still not able to see in complete darkness, as they need at least a small amount of light in order to see.
