Cats perceive the world differently than humans in several ways. Cats have a much better sense of smell than humans, and can detect scents up to 80 times better. Cats also have the ability to see in near darkness and can see up to six times better than humans in low light. Additionally, cats have an acute sense of hearing and can hear sounds up to two octaves higher than humans can. Finally, cats can also rotate their ears independently, allowing them to pinpoint the exact location of a sound.
